Rolex 1675 GMT-Master Mk1
First created for Pan Am pilots in the 1950s, the Rolex GMT-Master has soared from the golden age of aviation to the present day as one of the most coveted models in Rolex’s professional line. Across its seven-decade legacy, the reference 1675 stands out as the longest-produced GMT, enjoying an exceptional run of more than two decades.
Recently unearthed in Venezuela, this watch represents the very first iteration of matte-dial GMTs. Early Mk1 examples stand out through signature details such as the elongated middle bar of the “E” in ROLEX and a distinctive coronet. This unpolished 2.55m serial piece is beautifully preserved, showcasing thick, full, sharply defined chamfers. Its flawless Mk1 dial retains bold, crisp white text with an attractive light-sunflower patina on the luminous plots and perfectly matching original hands. Adding to its rarity, it still carries its original folded-link date bracelet — a feature so often lost over time.
While matte-dial 1675s remain available, examples of this caliber are vanishing at a faster pace than ever. We’re fortunate to offer such a wonderfully charismatic piece.
