Not all Newman dials have aged alike—many have lost their original brightness—but here the red printing remains strikingly vibrant, just as it would have appeared when it left the factory. The watch is housed in an unpolished 1.98 million-serial case, and the bezel retains its crisp, sharp edges.

Powering the watch is the legendary Valjoux 72 movement. It is further complemented by its original Rolex US made JB Champion Jubilee bracelet fitted with 49 end links.

While finding a Newman Daytona is not impossible today, discovering a fresh-to-market Rolex Daytona reference 6239 in such superlative condition is an altogether different matter.
