Rolex 1680 White Submariner

Widely known as the first reference Submariner to feature a date function, the 1680 is also broadly identified by its “top-hat” crystal feature that sits taller than most crystals we see from that era. The white 1680 reference sit near and dear to my heart as it was my personal entry into the world of vintage and like most, I joined with a Submariner – a reference, like a 911, has stood the very test of time.

This incredible 5.29M serial example stands out with a flawless Mk2 dial, unpolished case, and beautifully matching lume. The aspect I love most about this particular example is the hands carry a subtle, natural patina that adds an authentic charm I rarely see on these. It’s the kind of character collectors chase but rarely find. Originally brought to market years ago, it’s now back and better than ever and still one of the most compelling entry points into vintage Rolex.

I have seen countless white 1680’s and trust me, exceedingly few examples look this beautiful making it one of the finest examples on the current market.
